I am crafty, but I CAN'T sew; so I ordered this from http://www.etsy.com/people/hollielawless74 and she did a fantastic job! WELCOME to my classroom! I used a paw because we are the Tomcats but she has many other designs!
This 'D' was and burlap ribbon was purchased at Hobby Lobby and all I did was paint the 'D' blue and glued on the ribbon with the help of some friends!
This is my writing center that I have created for students with good behavior. They will have quick access to dictionaries and also an iPad for research. The table cloth I found at Wal Mart in the party section. (They are extremely thin but only $0.97 so they are easily replaceable!)
This is the EXIT station! If a student needs to leave the room, they have to sign their name on the little board and grab a pass. That way I know who is in my room and not in my room! (Especially during emergencies) The cart is not yet labeled, but will be labeled for periods. Each period will have different bucket that they will turn their things into. The drawers come all the way so you can take them home if need be! The small board came from Target and the cart came from www.amazon.com. The cary was very easy to assemble! This small bulletin board is in the back of my classroom. I will probably end up putting a list of rules on them. (Not positive yet!)
Theses cans have been transformed into a useful classroom management tool! I save old cans (because you never know when you will use them) and I purchased scrap paper from Hobby Lobby, wrapped the paper around the can and added a label! How simple and cheap?!These will be at the front of the room. I will allow students to get 2 at the very beginning of class as they walk in if they do not have any pencils. The reason I say 2 is because HOPEFULLY it will eliminate any getting of their seat during class. However, the rule is if you grab 2 pencils, you should put 2 pencils back. If it is useable the student will put it in the sharpened can. If it is not sharpened and needs to be, the student will put it in the unsharpened can so I know it needs to be sharpened. I will let yall know how this works out!
As I was printing invitation address labels for my sisters gender reveal party and my sons 3rd birthday, I was thinking of how I can use these labels in my classroom. Then there was the light bulb! I numbered my labels 1-30 and I used them to number my desk! On the first day of school, I will pass out numbers to the students as they walk in the door and they will have to find the matching number on the desk. Seating arrangement is ALWAYS subject to change but it is a good way to start out a seating chart.
I hope everyone has enjoyed viewing my classroom. I will continue to update you on the look as it all comes together!
